Liz Firth is the calligrapher, artist, and designer of the Lily and Farron brand. Based in Newcastle, NSW, just north of Sydney, she developed a passion for beautiful writing in 2013 after earning her Diploma in Graphic Design. Since then, she has committed herself to the art of calligraphy and hand lettering.

In 2015, Liz received the “Standard of Excellence” award for her calligraphy at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. In 2016, she was featured in the “Typism” Book 3 and participated in the “Made it, Make it” Conference Letterpress Exhibition. Liz also creates art using collage and embroidery, blending words and calligraphy with various textures, inspired by her love for classical, jazz, and world music, as well as flowers, nature, and vintage items. She has a Bachelor of Music (Hons) in clarinet and a Diploma in clarinet performance and teaching. Liz teaches clarinet and saxophone to students of all ages, enjoys her morning coffee, vintage design, restoring old furniture, gardening, playing the cello, and lives with her husband and three cocker spaniels, Tycho, Harry, and Zoot.
